I firmly believe in the system of helping others. When you look at the Word of God, God reveals things to us that are beneficial and helpful for our lives. Yet many times we are exploited by those desiring to make a profit from the misfortune we experience through miseducation. I cannot begin to tell you how many times in my searching I’d come across a “cure” for my issue and to, get the answer I would need to sign up for a free webinar, and at the end of that, the answer would now be revealed for a fee for a book or some other class/training. To clarify, I do sell books. Books that have gone stagnant that speak to us about the law and order that God designs for our lives. When it comes to specifics for health-related issues that I am also facing, I will share specifics of what I am learning and doing to change my life from surviving to thriving.
First, I Had to Understand Why
Low iron doesn't always mean you're not eating enough iron-rich foods. Sometimes it's about absorption — what you're eating alongside those foods, and what might be blocking your body from using what you're giving it. That was a game-changer for me.
What I Changed
The first thing was raising my iron levels from 5 to hovering in the 11 to 12 range. This iron business is a work in progress and is a symptom of other issues that many of us face, especially when we get into our 40’s. However, each blog will address different things. There is much to share, but a blog shouldn’t bore and should be enough to read and glean information from. One of the immediate issues when I learned of my low levels was that I was urged to get a blood transfusion or blood infusion, at least to stabilize my iron. It sounded plausible to me at first until I learned of the side effects of Iron transfusions and blood transfusions.
While both iron infusions and blood transfusions can be lifesaving and medically necessary in certain situations, I also learned that they are not without possible side effects and risks. Some of the side effects associated with iron infusions may include nausea, headache, dizziness, joint pain, muscle cramps, changes in blood pressure, allergic reactions, chest tightness, or swelling. In rare cases, some individuals may experience severe allergic responses or iron overload.
Blood transfusions can also carry risks such as allergic reactions, fever, difficulty breathing, fluid overload, immune reactions, or infections, though blood screening today is far safer than in previous years. Some people may also experience fatigue, rashes, or complications connected to how the body responds to donated blood.
Learning about these possible side effects made me pause and carefully consider my options. I realized I wanted to understand not only how to temporarily stabilize my condition, but also what may have contributed to my body reaching such low levels in the first place. That realization sent me on a deeper journey of learning about nourishment, absorption, minerals, enzymes, and the importance of working with the body rather than against it.
At that time, I was reading a book called “The Enzyme Advantage” by Dr. Howard M Loomis Jr. I happened to be on the exact section that discussed a woman who had a similar issue as I had, with extremely low iron levels, and how he was able to raise her levels within two weeks. I have pages 82-84 bookmarked to this day. I did not have the specifics for the herbal iron, but he explained that it contained Pau D’Arco, Yellow Dock, Echinacea, and Astragalus. I also searched high and low for a non-constipating quick iron, and after a few days, I found SiderAl Forte. Not only does it not constipate, but it bypasses the stomach and is released in the small intestine. I used the herbs along with the SiderAl Forte. ½ tsp of Pau D’Arco and ¼ tsp of Astragalus powder, 1 capsule of Yellow Dock root, and drank Echinacea tea-one week on and one week off. Within two weeks, my levels were at a 7. Not complete healing, but out of the range for a blood transfusion. For the next few months, my levels kept increasing. By December, I was at a 12. Now, 6 months later, I am at 11. My levels are up and down. So now I have begun to assess other things that may be affecting complete healing. Thankfully, nothing as drastic as a 5, but I monitor these levels. I will be checking again in 8 weeks to see if things have stabilized.
The Faith Behind It
What I've come to understand is that God didn't leave us without a blueprint for health. The 8 Natural Laws — nutrition, exercise, water, sunlight, temperance, air, rest, and trust in divine power — are not just suggestions. They are a system, designed by our Creator, that works together beautifully when we honor it.
Raising my iron levels wasn't just a physical victory. It was a reminder that when we align ourselves with God's design, our bodies respond.
A Note of Encouragement
At the end of the day, I am learning that healing is rarely about one magical answer. It is usually about returning to the laws and rhythms that God designed for the body in the first place. Sometimes we are looking for a quick fix when our bodies are asking for restoration, balance, nourishment, and rest. I am still learning, still researching, still adjusting, and honestly still healing. There are good days and frustrating days. Days when I feel strong and days when I wonder why progress seems slower than I hoped. But I have learned that paying attention matters.
I also realize now that many of us have normalized feeling unwell. Fatigue, brain fog, dizziness, anxiety, poor sleep, and constant stress have become so common that we assume they are just a normal part of getting older. But perhaps our bodies are trying to tell us something. Perhaps they are warning signs that something is out of rhythm.
I do not claim to have all the answers. I simply want to share the things I am learning along the way in hopes that someone else may be encouraged to ask deeper questions, seek understanding, and become more intentional about their health and spiritual life. My desire is not just to survive, but to thrive according to the principles God established for life.
And maybe that begins with slowing down long enough to listen.
You were made to thrive. 🙏
